Notice to my patients:

At this point I do not anticipate receiving any additional seasonal flu vaccine or H1N1 vaccine.  If you are still in need of either vaccine I recommend contacting the county health department to see when they will be holding their next clinic.  This year was quite unusual and distribution problems made it impossible for me to get the vaccines that I ordered.  Next year should be better. It is likely that the H1N1 vaccine strain will be included in next years seasonal flu vaccine.

H1N1 Update

In the last few weeks the number of H1N1 flu cases have dropped off tremendously in our area.  The seasonal flu likely will begin to circulate in February and March

There have been many additions recently to recommended vaccinations for adolesents  and adults. These include new vaccines for prevention of  whooping cough, chicken pox, cervical cancer, and Shingles.

Exercise

The CDC now recommends 30-60 minutes of moderately vigorous exercise most days of the week to maintain health.  Many recent studies show that exercise promotes health and longevity, and reduces the risk of everything from cancer to Alzheimer''''s Disease.
